Doesn't it always seem like whenever there's nothing going on, you're stuck at home bored out of your mind. But then when there is something going on, there's A LOT going on and you have to pick and choose? Well that was pretty much the story of our weekend. Saturday we were pretty much obligated to go to Dan's work's Christmas party, therefore missing our friend's Ugly Christmas Sweater Party. And then Sunday we had a big day planned to go up to the mountains and ride the Santa Train with the kids and then head back for a friend's birthday party. As luck would have it though, both kids were vomiting Sat night and Sunday morning so our Sunday was spent at home. Kim was sick too so it was not a fun day. Only 24 hours later though, everyone has recovered (and hopefully Dan manages to escape it entirely).
Genevieve had her 9 month checkup today. Her numbers finally reflect more of what I'm seeing. She's 60 percentile in height and weight, which doesn't surprise me given how much she detests eating. She's very healthy though - just not the 90th percentiles that I'm used to with Sebastien. She has 8 teeth, pulls to a stand, crawls, claps, says "yayaya", can use her fingers to put puffs in her mouth, uses a sippy cup for water, etc so she's on track.
Here are some pictures from the week:
Below: Genevieve standing against her wooden play block thing. Unfortunately she sometimes falls backwards and pulls it on top of her.
Below: Sebastien points to the Christmas tree. We almost didn't bother with a tree this year because we'll be in South Bend for Christmas but I'm so glad we did since he adores it. He turnes it on first thing in the morning (it's hooked up to our light switch) and it remains on ALL day.
Below: We've acquired yet another Elmo doll. This one was given to me from a lady at playgroup who's kids had outgrown it (and a bunch of other toys she gave me). This is a "Hokey Pokey" Elmo and he literally stands up and dances the hokey pokey. Both kids love it.

Below: Sebastien was always extremely gentle with Genevieve...until now. I don't know if it's the fact that she can now pull up and crawl around faster or what, but he thinks he is completely entitled to pull or push her around, as well as wrestle with her. The biggest problem is, she usually likes it, which is dangerous because it encourages him to keep going. Here's an example of how he wrestles with her. She giggles and squeals and loves it,
