Mid-week of IN vacation

Well it's about mid-week in our trip to Indiana. Here are some of the things we've done so far. Below is the St. Joe High School cheerleading squad (my old squad) that is now coached by Jennie, my old squad member. Sebastien, Grandpa Marty and I went to the St. Joe basketball game on Tuesday night. Sebastien liked the game...up until he fell asleep.

First weekend in Indiana

Sebastien and I did very well on the flights out to South Bend. Even with a 1.5 hour delay sitting on the runway in Detroit, Sebastien was pretty content during the flights. As soon as we arrived to South Bend, we had barely enough time to go back to my parent's house, unpack, re-pack a smaller bag and head to my Aunt Julie's house in Battle Creek, MI for a Murder Mystery party she was having at her house. All of my mom's 7 siblings came. Below are some pictures from the Murder Mystery party. I will have to post some better pictures once i get them from my relatives. Here is Uncle Kevin and Uncle Joe:

Aunt Sue & Aunt Mary rented their dresses. My mom is in the hat with her back to us.
Uncle Mike falls dead as the victim. Luckily he saved his beer.

Back in South Bend on Sunday, we went to visit Popoo.
Here are 3 generations! (Monet), Sebastien, Grandpa Marty & Popoo
Popoo knew a guy growing up named Sebastien who went by the nickname "Subby" and he asked me (3 different times) if I would call him that. I don't think I like that though.

Getting ready for Indiana!

Sebastien and I are getting very excited to go to Indiana in only 4 days! Although I am extremely nervous about taking him on the flight. I'm mostly nervous about 1. him fussing on the plane the person next to me being mad and 2. getting through the airport with him and carry-ons. Maybe I'll drink on the plane - lol!
Below: Sebastien playing in his crib. Some mornings he wakes up and lays in his crib and plays for a while. I have to go check and see if he's awake. Did I mention he's a good baby? :)

Below: Deep in thought

Below: testing out his new big boy carseat that we're taking to Indiana. He's 5 months old now and weighs 19 lbs 9 oz but his infant car seat only goes to 20 lbs. This car seat is good for 5-100 lbs. I'm happy that Sebastien's weight gain has slowed down. He only gained 3 oz a week for the last 3 weeks. For a while there, every time I weighed him, it seemed he had gained a pound.

Rice cereal and doggy kisses

Sebastien decided that he once again likes rice cereal. I mix it with formula so it becomes the consistency of thick applesauce and now he gobbles it up. Our after-work routine has become: nap during car ride home from daycare... play ...eat rice cereal ...(possible bath) ...more play .... to bed by 7:30 or 8:00pm. Another thing that's been going on this week, is if Sebastien is playing on the floor or in one of his low-to-the-ground chairs, Gwynnie will go over to him and lick him. Unfortunately they BOTH enjoy it when Gwynnie licks him on the mouth. Sebastien smiles and sticks out his tongue for more. I am constantly shooing away Gwynnie from Sebastien's mouth. Oh well - the flip side is that doggie mouths are supposed to be clean and the more germs he gets now, the better chance he won't have allergies. That's what I'm told anyway. Oh, and one more thing. Sebastien rolled over from front to back two times in a row. But unfortunately it happened while we were at the Masse Grandparent's house and I was in the other room and didn't see. I'm sure he'll do it again soon though.

Groundhog Day

According to the groundhog, we're in for 6 more weeks of winter. Boo! Winter is only fun when you're skiing and we haven't had a chance to ski yet this winter. Hopefully we'll get some in soon. This past week was super busy. Dan flew to Chicago for a 24 trip for work and meanwhile there was a blizzard so I had to learn to use the snowblower. Plus, the week was full with a dog haircut appointment, a baby doctor appointment, bad weather, etc. I'm hoping this week goes more smoothly. Sebastien continues to grow, grow, grow, although after only a few days of rice cereal, he decided no more! He won't even let me put it into his bottle. He flat out refuses. So I'm not sure what's going on but I guess I'll try again in a week or so. The daycare also convinced me to buy size 5 diapers for him. Now size 5 diapers are for weights 27 lbs +. He's not even 20 yet (although close) but they said he's so broad that that's why they think he keep having poop blow-outs. I think it has more to do with the fact that he onlys poohs once a day or once every other day so it's just A LOT at once. Oh well, so yes, my 4.5 month old is in size 5 diapers. The kid on the front of the box looks like she's two years old. Oh well. Lately, Sebastien has had some new adventures. He went to a Lowell Devils hockey game and despite the loud noises, he calmly sat on my lap for 2 hrs and watched the skaters go back and forth. The following weekend, we went ice skating with friends, and he sat with our friend Melissa and watched while we skated. I sometimes just can't get over how good he is! He has learned to grab his feet and does so now whenever he's on his back.
