Hockey Game

Our friends got us free tickets to a UMASS Lowell hockey game last Friday. It was a good time. Sebastien and Genevieve were thrilled with all the lights and noises. There is a mini blimp that flies around during intermissions and Sebastien thought that (and the Zambonis) were the coolest.

Saturday morning we went to "Imajne That" with Nicki and boys. It's a kid's play place. Here's Genevieve pushing around a mini shopping cart. She thought she was so grown up.
Below: For a while, each kid had a cozy coupe and were chasing each other in them.
Below: Dan and I went to our friend's annual wine tasting party Saturday night. Dan and I actually got a pretty decent picture taken of us together!

Kids museum with college kids

Becca and her college roomate, Devon, were home last Saturday and we all went to the Children's Museum of NH in Dover. The museum was ok. We are obviously very spoiled by the Boston Children's Museum, which is closer and a lot bigger. We still had a good time at this museum but I think it will be awhile before we return.
Below: Devon, Genevieve , Becca & Sebastien ready to go
Below: Devon & Becca with Genevieve. Is it just me or does Genevieve look like such a big girl here? She's 11 months now and I swear she has the face of a 3 year old.
Below: Kim & Genevieve at the museum
Below: She's really starting to get into books, as seen here.
Below: Dan and Sebastien try to make a mechanical exhibit work while the 2 college girls look on.
Below: fun with magnets! Below: At least Sebastien takes after his mommy in smiling for the camera!

Below: Genevieve in the area for babies and Sebastien in the train area. I took these pictures to compare to the ones I took of them here in July 2010. If you go back to July of 2010 in my blog, you can compare too. It's under the "Children's Museum of NH" entry. It's amazing what a difference 7 months makes when they're this young.
Special thanks to Becca and Devon for coming with us!

Turtle Home

No, this entry is not in reference to Spud, our little painted indoor turtle (who, in case you were wondering, has decided NOT to hibernating this winter and is still alive after not having been fed since October). It's in reference to our starry night turtle that glows either green, blue or orange and projects the stars and moon on the ceiling. Sebastien (with some help) builds little tents to put the turtle in, then climbs in there with him to look at the starry show. Genevieve (of course) is never far behind. Here they are in one of their turtle homes:
Genevieve is also at that stage where she LOVES to play with the hats, scarves and mittens in their little wooden holder. I remember when Sebastien used to like to play with them. Today Genevieve started unloading the wooden holder and Sebastien helped her finish. Genevieve then climbed into it was standing up, grinning and bouncing like she'd just climbed a mountain. Sebastien got in too, and I was able to snap the 2 pictures below, right before Genevieve decided to get out.

VIDEO: Genevieve and a push toy

So I am still extremely bummed that I haven't figured out a way to upload video from my camcorder to my new laptop, but then today it dawned on me (duhhh!) that I can use my regular digital camera to record video and upload it just like I upload my pictures. I'm happy to report that video on the blog is back! Here's Genevieve, who turned 11 months yesterday, pushing a toy around at Hampstead's playgroup this morning:

**Make sure to also see the new post below!**

Another week, another post

Can you spot Gwynnie below? She's hiding in our Winter Wonderland backyard. Sometimes I catch her out there just running around playing instead of simply doing her business.
Below: Pre-bedtime stories.
Below: Kim likes to let Genevieve play in her crib while showering, but occasionally, this happens:
Below: Like dog, like child.
Below: Luke, Genevieve & Sebastien at the bouncy house place.
Below: Sebastien and Ethan have SO much fun together. Here they are, up to mischief.
Below: Genevieve and Addison also get along great but tend to be much less of a handful. They are so sweet!

Below: Ready to go to Friday playgroup!
(Yeah so I found this shirt in Sebastien's old clothes. It's so adorable, but it's only size 3-6 months and it still fits her! She's such a peanut!)
Below: I swear she looks like she's 3 in this picture though. Here she is (at now 11 months) cruisin along at playgroup.

Last week's activities

Genevieve has started to get into books lately. I'm pretty sure it was around this age (10 months or so) that Sebastien got into them as well. He would crawl over to the bookshelf, grab some books and flip through them for quite a while. Genevieve has started doing that now too. Of course, when Sebastien was her age, "his" bookshelf was only the bottom shelf of this rack and now all 3 shelves are kids books!
Below: Genevieve shows off her favorite book.
Below: Daddy's blue-eyed girl Below: Last weekend we went to our friends Adam and Rachael's house. Addison is 2 months younger than Genevieve and Ethan 1 year older. We all had a great time. The girls played then went to bed like angels, and the boys..well the boys played like boys. Their favorite game of the night was jumping on Adam and Rachael's bed while throwing towels up onto the ceiling fan. Then they'd turn the fan on, the towels would go flying and they'd fall over from laughing and squealing so hard. It was really funny to watch and listen to. They also did not want to go to bed so we put on a movie for them (while we watched our movie downstairs) while the snuggled in Ethan's bed. Ethan fell asleep but Sebastien stayed up and watched the entire movie. I guess he's going to be like me - can't fall asleep to TV. So Sebastien had his latest bedtime yet (11:30pm) the past weekend and recovered by taking a 4.5 hr nap the next day.
Below: Addison and Genevieve Below: A few days ago...Addison, Genevieve and Avalynn all chewing on toys.
Below: Genevieve shows off her boo-boo that she got from falling backwards and getting her head wedged between the corner of the fireplace and the TV cabinet. Thank God for our rubber fireplace pads or else this would have been a lot worse!

S to the N to the O to the W, SNOW!

So I guess it's been a while since I posted since my mom asked me the other day if I've "given up" on the blog. Geesh! No, it's just that 1. there's not much going on these days worth writing about and 2. it's a little hard to find the time sometimes, you know? Nevertheless, here we go:
We've had a TON of snow the last couple weeks and there's still a bunch on the ground, despite some melting from the sun being out in between storms. Here are some photos around our house:
Sebastien models on our front walk.
Below: Sebastien (who is a very tall 2.5 I might add) shows how high the snow is.
Below: Sebastien running down the driveway.
Below: Genevieve watching Dan and Sebastien playing outside.
Below: Both kids bundled up for a family trip to Winter Wonderland, aka our backyard.
Below: Us in front of the tunnel and paths that are shoveled out all around our backyard. Sebastien and Gwynnie run around the paths like crazies.
Below: Dan and Genevieve (notice she's wearing Sebastien's boots from last year) show off how high the snow is. It's almost over the backyard fence! Luckily Gwynnie has wisened up and realized she really does not want to run away in weather like this because if she wanted to, she totally could.
And as I type, Dan has been on the roof shoveling snow, snowblowing that snow from the driveway, and is working on snowblowing a path all around the house. He's also hoping to snowblow off the porch, which now has a mountain of snow on it from the roof. Wish him luck!
