Genevieve - 6 to 7 weeks

Kim and Genevieve at a friend's birthday party last Sunday.

Below: playgroup at our house!
Below: I am making sure to take some pictures of her when she's crying because I didn't really take any of Sebastien when he was crying, yet that's what he did his whole first month!

At 6 weeks Genevieve weighed 1o lbs 12 oz. Maybe she'll catch up to Sebastien because he was 12 lbs at 8 weeks. She also is sleeping like a champ. Starting around 5 weeks, she slept 6 hour stretches, then 7, then 8 and for the last 3 days she has slept from 8-5. That's 9 hours! Plus, then she'll eat and go back down til 8. We're really hoping this isn't a phase, but I'm starting to believe that it really could be her new schedule!

Tree Removal

On Friday we had 7 pine trees removed from our yard. Our neighbors who had a tree fall through their house during the last windstorm, also had 7 removed. This was quite the site to see, not just for Sebastien but for anyone. There was a huge crane that lifted the trees right over the house! See the VIDEO post below for some footage. Kim took the kiddos to playgroup and then over to Grandma & Grandpa's for the day just in case one of those trees would happen to fall on the house. Luckily there were no mishaps and all went well. The tree company will be back next week to grind up the stumps and take the logs. Then we'll have a lot of lawn repair to do!
Below: Sebastien marvels at all of the trucks and equipment outside. Here he is pointing to the crane that just arrived.

Below: Daddy is equally fascinated
Below: Here's what the side yard and trees looked like before any came down.

Genevieve is NOT amused by the tree activity.

Happy 5 Years!

Friday was Dan & Kim's 5th wedding anniversary. Wow! Can you believe it. Time flies. We celebrated on Saturday night with dinner and a movie. It was soooo nice to get out and do that. Thanks to grandma and grannpa masse for babysitting! Friday morning Kim took the kiddos to playgroup. Below is a picture of Luke & Sebastien playing with the train.
Below: Saturday morning crazy hair.
Below: This is the wall decor that Ana L. made for Genevieve and Kim just got it hung up. It's gorgeous!
Another view...

Genevieve has slept 6-7 hours in a row the last 4 nights. It's very hard not to get excited that she will continue this, but our experience with Sebastien in the 2nd month taught us that you never know if they'll revert back to only sleeping 3 hours in a row. But for right now, we are loving those 6-7 hour stretches, after which she usually eats for 40 min and sleeps again for another 3.

SEE Science Center

On Sunday morning, we took a family trip to the SEE Science Center in Manchester, NH. It is located in an old mill in the old mill district. We met Nicki, her sister, and boys, plus another friend and her son, Theo. Sebastien had a great time and Genevieve enjoyed a good nap throughout the museum.
Below: Sebastien and Luke look at a Lego display. Sebastien is pointing to the moving crane.
Luke, Theo, & Sebastien watching the Lego crane.
Below: haha, a view from the other side of the display shows Sebastien is VERY interested.
Below: Sebastien running through the "submarine" while Luke and his Aunt Dee look through the periscope.
Below: how Genevieve spent her day at the museum...

There was also a special dinosaur exhibit. The mechanically moving dinosaurs were in a dark room lit up with spotlights and scary dinosaurs sounds. Sebastien was very scared though and Dan carried him through that part very quickly.
Below: Daddy and Sebastien. Sebastien would rather stick to the little dinosaurs like this one.

A Visit from The Lapinskis

On Friday, Sebastien, Genevieve and Kim went to their first playgroup with Nicki, Luke & Landon. It was a lot of fun for all. We were also lucky to have visitors that afternoon! Kim's Aunt Julie and Uncle Rich, cousins Tony & Ana and their twins came to visit us in Windham. It was a rainy day but the kids had a good time playing inside. Before we get to those pictures, I must show a photo of the new rug that Grammy Patty helped pick out. Below is Sebastien playing on the new rug.
Here is Sebastien, Olivia, and Christopher playing with a racetrack game that they all loved...especially Christopher.
Below: Aunt Julie holding Genevieve, who managed to sleep in her swing almost the entire time while the big kids played and screamed and ran around noisily.
Towards the end of the day, the kiddos were getting tired and grumpy so we put on a video. Here they are watching it.

Easter: before and after

Genevieve entered the 3rd week of her life this past week. It was also Sebastien's last week of daycare, and it was Holy Week. Genevieve is packing on the pounds and her night time routine is to eat between 8:30-9:30pm, then again from 1-2, from 4-5, and finally from 6-7 and then Sebastien is up so no more sleep for me! So that means sleep comes in short intervals . Hopefully as she slides into her 2nd month, she'll start adding some time to those increments. Sebastien was unaware that he'd never see his daycare friends again, but that made his last day easier. I think I was more upset by it than anyone else. I feel a little sad that he won't have them to play with anymore but that's even more inspiration for me to find some playgroups to get us out of the house. Below are some pictures from last week. We had unusually warm weather towards Easter weekend.
Below: Sebastien plays with Luke O'Donnell at his house Saturday evening.
Below: It was so warm Saturday afternoon that we broke out the bubbles! Sebastien loved them and chased them around. Gwynnie even chased them a bit too.
Below: chasing bubbles. Note: last year's shorts are still too big.
Below: Here Genevieve is intrigued by Auntie Becca
Below: Unlike her big brother, she may be a pacifier kid. The only one she'll take, though, is the special "gumdrop" kind that great aunt Susie gave to Sebastien. I have since ordered 4 more (in pink and purple of course).
Below: Genevieve strikes another funny pose while modeling a sweater that was her mommy's.
Below: Easter's on it's way!

Below: Easter morning church clothes

All dolled up
Below: Well the Easter family picture didn't go so well, thanks to one grumpy toddler who just wanted to go play in his swing (at Grandpa & Grandma Masse's house).

Below: Easter Egg Hunt on the front lawn for Sebastien. His eggs were filled with Cheerios!
Next week is Kim's first week home with both kiddos. Wish me luck!
