Joint Birthday Party with the Twins!

This past weekend we drove to Springfield, MA to visit Kim's cousin Tony Lapinski, his wife Ana, and their twins Olivia and Christopher, who are 9 days younger than Sebastien. We had a joint birthday party at their house. It was a wonderful time and hopefully we can get together again soon.

Time for first birthday (cup) cake!
Sebastien was now a pro at eating cake, considering it was his 3rd time.
This was Christopher's first taste of cake and he was loving it!
Olivia was much more lady-like eating her cupcake.

Actual birthday and around the house

Sebastien's actual 1st birthday was Wed, Sept 16th so we let him have a little more of his train cake (the caboose to be exact). But since the last time he had cake he woke up with a tummy ache in the middle of the night, we significantly reduced the amount he was allowed to eat this time. Sebastien has taken as many as 10 unassisted steps in a row but still mostly chooses to crawl. His new favorite thing is wrestling. We're not sure where he picked it up but he gets very excited when Dadda gets home at night so they can wrestle - which mostly consists of Dan laying on the floor and Sebastien jumping on him. It's very funny to watch and maybe I can capture and post a video of it. Here is a picture of him raiding Dan's dresser. He had already taken off his own socks and put them in Dan's sock drawer.

Grammy Patty, Apples, and a New Toy Car! Oh my!

Grammy Patty came to visit us for a long weekend. We had such a good time. Grammy even got to see Sebastien take some of his first steps. The highlight was seeing him take 3 unassisted steps by himself before falling. He's getting so close! Below you can see Sebastien eating Grammy Patty's yummy manicotti. Daddy couldn't stand to see Sebastien so messy so mommy had to feed him. We just plopped him in the tub afterwards.

Sunday morning we went Apple Picking at Mack's Apples in Londonderry. We learned it only takes about 2 minutes to fill a small paper bag full of apples. Oh well, we had fun anyway!

There was a pond on the orchard grounds that made an ideal spot for picture taking.
This could be one of my new favorites.

Sebastien's 1st Birthday Party & Cake

Sebastien celebrated his 1st birthday a few days early with a little family party at his grandma & grandpa masse's house yesterday. I can't believe that he's already 1! While I can't exactly say that the year has flown by (which seems to be what most people say), it's amazing that I no longer have a little baby to take care of but an almost-walking toddler instead. How did that happen?! My mom (Grammy Patty) and I worked on Sebastien's cake on Saturday afternoon. Yes, we went a bit overboard. Here are some pictures of his choo-choo train.

"Oh my gosh, why are they singing at me?"
Mmmm...this stuff is good.

Labor Day Weekend

Dan & I hosted a Labor Day party on Sunday. We had a pretty good turnout, tons of food and drink. My only complaint was that it wasn't warn enough for the pool, but the flipside is that the hot tub was very popular. Here is a picture of Sebastien and I at the party. He enjoyed pushing his toy around the yard and he enjoyed various macaroni salads. :)

Bath time!

After cleaning up from the party on Monday morning, we headed to the mountains for a sunset hike up Mt Hedgehog. Sebastien rode in his hiking carrier and sure made the hike a bit more challenging for Dan. Sebastien loved to watch all the scenery, practiced saying "mountain" (which came out "momma"), and eventually took a little nap while mommy & daddy hiked.

Sampling the mountain moss...mmmm.

Playtime

The summer heat is dwindling in the northeast. This past weekend, Sebastien played around the house. Luke O'Donnell (and mommy Nicki) came to visit on Saturday. Here are some pictures of them playing.
