A Visit from The Lapinskis

On Friday, Sebastien, Genevieve and Kim went to their first playgroup with Nicki, Luke & Landon. It was a lot of fun for all. We were also lucky to have visitors that afternoon! Kim's Aunt Julie and Uncle Rich, cousins Tony & Ana and their twins came to visit us in Windham. It was a rainy day but the kids had a good time playing inside. Before we get to those pictures, I must show a photo of the new rug that Grammy Patty helped pick out. Below is Sebastien playing on the new rug.
Here is Sebastien, Olivia, and Christopher playing with a racetrack game that they all loved...especially Christopher.
Below: Aunt Julie holding Genevieve, who managed to sleep in her swing almost the entire time while the big kids played and screamed and ran around noisily.
Towards the end of the day, the kiddos were getting tired and grumpy so we put on a video. Here they are watching it.

Easter: before and after

Genevieve entered the 3rd week of her life this past week. It was also Sebastien's last week of daycare, and it was Holy Week. Genevieve is packing on the pounds and her night time routine is to eat between 8:30-9:30pm, then again from 1-2, from 4-5, and finally from 6-7 and then Sebastien is up so no more sleep for me! So that means sleep comes in short intervals . Hopefully as she slides into her 2nd month, she'll start adding some time to those increments. Sebastien was unaware that he'd never see his daycare friends again, but that made his last day easier. I think I was more upset by it than anyone else. I feel a little sad that he won't have them to play with anymore but that's even more inspiration for me to find some playgroups to get us out of the house. Below are some pictures from last week. We had unusually warm weather towards Easter weekend.
Below: Sebastien plays with Luke O'Donnell at his house Saturday evening.
Below: It was so warm Saturday afternoon that we broke out the bubbles! Sebastien loved them and chased them around. Gwynnie even chased them a bit too.
Below: chasing bubbles. Note: last year's shorts are still too big.
Below: Here Genevieve is intrigued by Auntie Becca
Below: Unlike her big brother, she may be a pacifier kid. The only one she'll take, though, is the special "gumdrop" kind that great aunt Susie gave to Sebastien. I have since ordered 4 more (in pink and purple of course).
Below: Genevieve strikes another funny pose while modeling a sweater that was her mommy's.

All dolled up
Below: Well the Easter family picture didn't go so well, thanks to one grumpy toddler who just wanted to go play in his swing (at Grandpa & Grandma Masse's house).

Below: Easter Egg Hunt on the front lawn for Sebastien. His eggs were filled with Cheerios!
Next week is Kim's first week home with both kiddos. Wish me luck!

Grammy Patty visits

Last Thursday before Grammy Patty came, we took our first family trip to the park in Windham. It was an unusually warm day (around 60 degrees). The park was packed and Sebastien had a great time playing on the slide and jungle gym. Here is a picture of our first family outing!
Grammy arrived Thursday night and Sebastien wasted no time snuggling up to Grammy and playing with her.
Below: Genevieve getting burped
Below: Sebastien helped Kim put the Easter eggs on the bush. He was more interested in running around the yard though and didn't want to come inside.
Below: family of four
Below: This morning we all went to our town's annual Easter Egg hunt. Even though Sebastien was in the 0-3 age group, he barely made away with 2 eggs. They were all gone in seconds! It was too chilly for Genevieve though so we left right after without seeing the Easter bunny.
Below: Sebastien on the hunt
Below: Genevieve was very alert after feeling that cold morning air at the egg hunt.

More baby pics

Genevieve is well and thriving. She is already up to 7 lbs 4 oz (after leaving the hospital at 6 lbs 11 oz). She is gaining so much weight because she eats every 3 hours around the clock! That makes for a very tired mommy and daddy. Grammy Patty arrived yesterday though so it's her turn to be tired with us! Here are a couple pictures from a few days ago.

Baby Genevieve!

Genevieve Samantha Masse arrived 8 days early on Wednesday morning March 10th. Compared to her big brother she is a little peanut! She was born at 7 lbs 1 oz. Mommy, Daddy & Baby are doing fine. Here's her first picture!

Birth Story: Kim was home with Sebastien Tuesday night around 6 when her water broke. She called Dan to come home from work right away while she frantically packed bags and Sebastien ran amuck. Grandpa Masse picked up Sebastien & Gwynnie and took them home while Dan and Kim headed to the hospital. Kim's contractions started naturally (without her having to be induced) around 8pm and Genevieve was born the following morning at 7am. No epidural this time either, and Kim learned that giving birth to a 7lb baby isn't any easier than giving birth to an almost 9 pounder either! But Mom, baby and daddy made it through fine and everyone is healthy and happy.

Below: all cleaned up
Baby's report card: 7 lbs 1 oz, 18.5 in

Below: Sebastien came to visit Wednesday night. He didn't care too much for Genevieve other than to give her a few pokes and take off her hat. When we asked him where the baby was, he pointed at her. He was excited to play with the new Elmo doll that grandma gave him instead. Below is daddy & Sebastien playing with the hospital curtain.

Dan, Kim, and baby Genevieve all got decent sleep Wednesday night and are looking forward to Genevieve's second day.
