NH Fairy Tale Festival

We went to a Fairy Tale Festival today. So fun! We got lots of free goodies and the kids had a good time.
Here are the kids at the festival.
 Watching a stage performance
Hanging with Sleeping Beauty and Tinkerbell
Sebastien supervised Genevieve's jumps in the bouncy house
Sebastien liked watching his little windmill thingy blow in the wind.
Genevieve and her balloon wand...of course she chose orange.
She also LOVED watching the dancers.

Happy Birthday Gwynnie!

Summer Lovin

We had a very busy week last week. That seems to be the theme these days, doesn't it? I love it though, especially when I compare it to the long, claustrophobic days of winter. Sebastien and Genevieve started their two weeks of swim lessons at the town beach. Here's a picture below of Sebastien in his class. I don't have any pictures of Genevieve because I do the class with her. I'm not sure how much they are learning to swim, but at least they are learning to enjoy the water.
I took the next two pictures on my iPhone in our backyard. I love that I can liven up the images and colors. Don't these just scream "summer"?

My friend Meagan introduced us to the children's plays at the Palace Theater in Manchester. We went with her and some others on Thursday to see Cinderella. The kids really liked it. Sebastien was at the edge of his seat the whole time.
Coming up tomorrow, a Sunday trip to the Cape with some good friends!
Viva la summer!

North Conway Weekend

Above is the link to all of the pictures from our trip to North Conway. There's no way I can post them all here, so I will post my favorites.
Below: Sebastien went fishing with Grandpa and Daddy.
Kim, Genevieve, Grandma and Becca hung out by the hotel pool.
Thomas the Train whistled and whizzed by behind our hotel!

Excitedly waving as Thomas went by.

Sunday we did "A Day Out with Thomas"
Me with my godson, Joshua, while riding the train.

The trip was yet another awesome adventure!

First Trip to Nail Salon

We had a super fun day yesterday. We started out going to Wonderland, a really cool wooden park / play area in our town. Then we went to Chunky's Cinema for lunch while watching the new Disney movie, Brave. Unofrtunately the movie was a little scary for them, but they made it through by both sitting on my lap. After Genevieve's nap, Grandma and Becca called and wanted the girls to go get pedicures while Grandpa and Sebastien hung out. What a nice surprise!
Genevieve sat as still as a statue as she got her fingernails and toenails painted. Once it was done, though, she started squirming. The nail technician had to redo one of her thumb designs 5 times before it dried without her smudging it!

As you can see above, I didn't need to hold her hands while she was getting them painted. Here I am below, however, trying to hold that one thumb still so it could dry. In this particular picture, it was a failed attempt.
 Ta-Da!
 THANK YOU, GRANDMA!!
And here's a cute picture from earlier in the day at Wonderland.
On the way home from Grandma and Grandpa's house, Sebastien said with a pout, "I wish I was a girl so I could get my nails painted." He almost broke my heart. If he still feels this way later, then we'll be taking a trip to the dollar store to get some blue or green nail polish for his at-home manicure. So far it's 10AM the next day and he hasn't mentioned it again. Fingers still crossed. :)

Town Beach

This year I finally went to our town beach and it was great. It's located on Cobbett's Pond in Windham. I signed Sebastien up for "beach games" today so he got to do that along with playing in the water and sand. Considering the town beach is free, 3 minutes down the road, and basically the full kid beach experience (minus the ocean and waves of course), I think we'll be visiting again real soon. Oh yeah, I just remembered that we have swim lessons there starting next week, so I guess it will be soon!

Here's Sebastien participating in one of the relay games.

What a fun morning! - and no 45 minute drive home from the ocean either!

Garden and Fireworks

Here's the garden thus far. Peas are almost gone already. Lettuce and kohlrabi are ready to eat. Many more veggies still to come!
Yummy kohlrabi. Popoo (my grandpa) told us about this vegetable, that is apparently unknown out here in the Northeast. Popoo says, "You eat it with beer." Sounds like a plan.
Sebastien helped me wash some of the lettuce we picked.
Our town fireworks were Saturday night. Here are the kids running around before they started.
Uncle Phil joined us and the kids were thrilled to have him.

 Below: They love each other...usually.

All of us waiting for the fireworks
 Watching the fireworks.
This year Sebastien was scared of the noise, which is odd because he was fine last year. Genevieve, on the other hand, wasn't scared at all and chose to serenade us with the "rainbow" song from Cat and the Hat while we watched them. Maybe next year, she'll be the one scared...who knows!
